First Birthday

Okay y'all...we had a birthday celebration this week and it was great! I (Amos) turned one! I was so excited because I had never had a birthday before (after all, I am only ONE), and wasn't sure what was going on at first, but then I realized it was all for ME...so I loved it.

Mom put some crazy thing around my head and I got it off as fast as I could, but not before she could snap a picture to forever save that ridiculous look.  I guess humans think this is fun to do on a birthday?!

But, then, what I had been smelling all day appeared before me.  A delectable "tree" of chocolate (okay, healthy dog chocolate - carob) Southern Inspired Treats cupcakes.  I couldn't even wait and toppled the whole tree before the "Happy Birthday" song had even begun.  I thought I would be in trouble so I swallowed one cupcake whole  (paper and all) before anyone could stop me.  Mom was upset, but it was my birthday, so I got away with it.

Then, I got an awesome toy.  Mom kept saying how it was so tough and she would be surprised if I could chew through it. I sensed a challenge!

So, I worked hard and within 30 minutes, I was smacking pieces I had pulled loose from the toy.  Again, mom was not happy, and this time (even though it was MY BIRTHDAY), she took the toy away from me mumbling something about me not taking care of my toys and that I'm going to get sick.  

All in all, it was a great birthday and I can't wait for my second one.
