Spring Fever

As a dog, I love being outside and lately, it has been so nice!  The sun has come out and it has been the perfect temperature for me to just lay out in the back yard, spread my toys everywhere and just bask in the freshness of the outdoors! So, I think it's almost spring time.  I can feel it.  That, and all my fur is shedding all over the house.

Since it's almost spring, my "mom" has been on a kick of figuring out and finding how to make the perfect treats for us for the new season!  She has done it and they'll definitely have me bounding down the bunny trail and you, too!  Of course, they are all healthy, and one treat even has carrots in it (you'll see that soon)!  I'm no rabbit, but I will admit they are scrumptious (maybe I just like the frosting).

Anyway, my mom comes from a line of Southern cooks and although she says she hasn't inherited the "cooking meals" part of it so well, she's down with the baking part.  So, she's baking treats for us that are similar to many of the foods on which she grew up...including her Granny's Oatmeal Cookies.

I am salivating. I mean, these include oats, peanut butter, honey, vanilla and even a few GA peanuts...can you blame me?!  Mom said Granny puts white raisins in hers, but she can't put those in the ones for us dogs, because they can cause kidney failure and no treat is worth that.

So, here they are.

The dough...mom even tasted it, it was so good!

Waiting patiently on the treats to finish baking!  By the oven, of course, for first dibs!
Fresh from the oven.

You can see these are chock-full of oats and nuts!

Gotta go eat,
Amos
